The Maison Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne, founded in 1584, though Jean Gosset was already harvesting the family vineyard in Aÿ as early as the 15th century (1484), during the Renaissance and even before Christopher Columbus reached America!
In 1531, Jean Gosset became “Lord of Aÿ and Mareuil,” and history records that the Gosset cellars neighbored those of King Francis I.
In 1584, Pierre Gosset established a wine trading house producing still wines, a century and a half before Champagne wines began to sparkle. These wines were cherished even at the royal tables of France, with Gosset Champagne notably featured on the wine list for the coronation of Charles X in 1825.
The Gosset family maintained the tradition of crafting exceptional Champagnes for 16 generations. Today, Gosset stands as a testament to seven centuries of history and expertise in the art of Champagne.
